NTL JV BOYS BASKETBALL: FAST START PROPELS ATHENS TO 55-26 WIN OVER TOWANDA (2024-02-07)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS - Athens opened the game with a 21-2 blitz, and cruised to a 55-26 win over Towanda here Tuesday evening in NTL Large School Division JV boys basketball action.
Noah Hobday scored eight points, while James Friend, and Adam Kemp added four points apiece in the WIldcat’s first-quarter rampage.
Kemp scored eight points, while Nick Robbins added six points, and Aiden Vanderpool canned a 3-pointer as Athens extended its lead to 38-15 at the half with a 17-13 advantage in the stanza.
The Wildcats outscored Towanda 13-9 in the third quarter, and 4-2 in the final eight minutes.
Kemp led Athens with 14 points, while Hobday scored 13 points, Robbins had nine points, Talon Baglini added eight points, and Friend chipped in with six points.
Athens returns to action Thursday at home against North Penn-Mansfield in the final game of the regular season.
