IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: O-M RIDES SECOND-QUARTER BLITZ TO 60-29 WIN OVER TIOGA (2024-02-08)

TIOGA CENTER — Odessa-Montour used a 19-0 second-quarter blitz en route to a 60-29 blowout win over Tioga here Thursday night in IAC South Small School Division girls basketball action.

Tioga sophomore Mia Hall knocked down a 3-pointer and scored five points, but O-M outscored the Tigers 15-9 in the first eight minutes.

The Grizzlies upped their advantage to 34-9 at the half with the 19 unanswered points.

Junior Taliah Speer canned a pair of 3-pointers, and Hall added another trey, and four of their teammates also put their name in the scoring column in one of Tioga’s best quarters of the season, but O-M outscored them, 19-17, to take a 52-26 lead into the fourth quarter.

Speer led Tioga with nine points, including two 3-pointers, and seven rebounds, while Hall scored eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers, sophomore RaeAnne Feeko added five points, six rebounds, and two steals, sophomore Lydiah Decker added four rebounds, and senior Kaitlyn Vasey-Hunt, and freshman Sadie Marshall each chipped in with three boards.

Gina Gavich led O-M with 21 points on seven 3-pointers, and Leah Antes added 14 points.

Tioga, now 0-17, finishes off the regular season Friday when it hosts Harpursville.
