THE VALLEY - Basketball takes center stage Friday night, with the Waverly, Athens, and Tioga girls at home, and the Waverly boys on the road.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Waverly (14-3 overall, 9-2) STAC Central at Chenango Valley (7-10, 2-9), 5:30 p.m. JV start:
The Wolverines are coming off a 67-41 win over Owego Wednesday night, while the Warriors dropped a 47-35 decision to Chenango Forks.

Waverly still has a chance to win the STAC’s Central Division title. It needs a win tonight, and needs Owego to beat Seton Catholic to force a three-way playoff.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Horseheads (12-4) at Waverly (9-8), 5:30 p.m. JV start:
The Wolverines are coming off a 39-24 loss to Chenango Valley Thursday, while the Blue Raiders are coming off a 40-31 win over Corning — their 10th straight victory.

Williamson (17-3) at Athens (7-11), 6 p.m. JV start: The Wildcats are coming off a 48-39 loss to Towanda, while the Warriors are coming off a 71-40 win at Wyalusing — their 10th win in 11 contests.

Cowanesque Valley at Sayre, 6 p.m. (Varsity only): The game has been postponed. It will be played Wednesday.

Harpursville at Tioga (0-17), 6 p.m. (Varsity only): The Tigers are coming off a 60-29 loss to O-M Thursday night, and wrap up the regular season tonight against Harpursville, which is coming off a 30-point loss to Greene.
