THE VALLEY — The Section IV Wrestling Championships headline Saturday’s schedule, with Tioga seeking its seventh consecutive Division 2 title.

WRESTLING
Section IV, Division 2 Championship, 8:30 a.m. @ Broome County Arena:
Tioga has won six straight Section IV, Division 2 titles, while Waverly was second last year.

Last year, Tioga crowned five champions, and sent eight wrestlers to States. All eight are back this season.

Senior Gianni Silvestri has won three consecutive Section IV titles, and was a runner-up as a 7th-grader. He also has two state titles, and a runner-up finish.

Senior Caden Bellis has three Section IV titles, and a fourth-place finish, as well as one state title, a runner-up finish, and a fourth-place finish

Senior Ousmane Duncanson has won two Section IV titles, and had a third-place finish, and has two state titles.

Senior Tyler Roe has one Section IV title, and a runner-up finish. He was fifth at States in 2022;

Senior Drew Macumber has one Section IV title, and a runner-up finish. He was sixth at States last year.

Senior Deakon Bailey finished third at Sectionals, and sixth at States last year.

Sophomore Jayden Duncanson has one Section IV title and a runner-up finish, as well as two third-place finishes at States.

Freshman Logan Bellis was third in Section, and was a runner-up at States last year.

Freshman Declan McKee is the top seed at 101 pounds, and sophomore Kadin Cole is the third seed at 108.

Last year, Waverly sent five to states, with sophomore Troy Beeman, and freshman Matthias Welles returning — Connor Stotler and Braeden Hills graduated, and Kam Hills did not wrestle this season.

Welles was runner-up at 215 pounds last year, and Beeman finished third at 285 pounds.

Eighth-grader Drayton DeKay is the fourth seed at 108 pounds for the Wolverines.
