BINGHAMTON - Waverly ended any doubts of finishing the regular season with a 14-game win streak, capping Friday night’s 56-37 win over Chenango Valley with a 14-0 fourth-quarter blitz to seal the deal in a STAC Central Division junior varsity boys basketball contest.

Ben Shaw knocked down a 3-pointer, and scored five points in the first quarter, and Jack Pipher added a 3-pointer to help Waverly to a 14-8 lead after the opening stanza.

Carter Davies pumped in six points in the second quarter, and Bryce LaForest added a 3-pointer, and scored five point as Waverly added a point to its lead with a 13-12 advantage to take a 27-20 lead into the halftime intermission.

Chenango Valley put together its best quarter of the contest in the third, outscoring Waverly 17-15, despite five points by Davies, four points from Peyton Robinson, and a 3-pointer by Pipher.

Six different Wolverines put their name in the scoring column in the decisive game-ending run, led by four points from LaForest.

Davies led Waverly with 16 points, seven rebounds, and one blocked shot, while LaForest had 10 points, four assists, and three steals, and Shaw scored seven points, and dished out three assists.

Pipher had six points on a pair of 3-pointers, and had four steals, and two assists, while Porter Daddona had six points, and three rebounds, Carson Rockwell tallied four points and four rebounds, and, Robinson added four points, and two assists.

Waverly ends the regular season at 17-1, and will host Binghamton Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the semifinals of the STAC Championships.
