SECTION IV GIRLS BOWLING: CONKLIN LEADS WAVERLY TO FOURTH-PLACE FINISH AT CLASS C CHAMPIONSHIP (2024-02-17)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL - Junior Serenity Conklin rolled a 600 series to lead Waverly to a fourth-place finish in the Section IV, Class C girls bowling championship here Saturday morning at Midway Lanes.
Greene-Oxford won the team title with 2,732 pins, well ahead of runner-up Windsor, which had 2,509 pins. Union Springs / Port Byron was third at 2,472, while Waverly tallied 2,457, and SVEC was fifth with 2,373.
Conklin shot a 608 series on games of 215, 198, and 195 to pace the Wolverines, and 8th-grader Karis Hayes had a 565, including a 210 in the first game.
Seventh-grader Ariel Houseknecht rolled a 483 series for Waverly , while 8th-grader Rylie Witman added a 435 series, and 7th-grader Aby Apgar tacked on a 366.
Conklin and Hayes will bowl next weekend at the State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
