COLLEGE SOFTBALL: ATHENS GRAD MACIK HAS FIVE MULTI-HIT GAMES DURING MANSFIELD'S 8-GAME WIN STREAK (2024-03-20)

Caydence Macik, a sophomore on the Mansfield University softball team, has five multi-hit games during the Mountaineers’ current eight-game win streak.
Macik started her run with three hits, including two doubles, two runs scored, and three RBI in a 7-0 win over SUNY Oswego at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic at Myrtle Beach on March 12.
On Thursday, Macik was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in a 5-2 win over Lycoming. Later in the day, Macik singled in three at-bats in a 9-1 five-inning win over Haskell Indian Nations University.
On Friday, Macik was 2-for-3 with an RBI in a 9-0 five-innings win over Clarks Summit University. Later in the day, Macik was 0-for-3 with an RBI in a 12-3 five-inning victory over University of Maine-Presque to wrap up their time in Myrtle Beach.
On Sunday, Mansfield rolled to a sweep of Lincoln University.
In the opener, an 18-2 five-inning win, Macik was 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored.
In the nightcap, a 9-1 win, Macik was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.
On the season, Macik is hitting .364 (12 hits in 33 ABs) with four doubles, 11 RBI and five runs scored.
Defensively, Macik has a .980 fielding percentage, with just one error in 51 defensive chances (32 assists, and 18 putouts).
Mansfield’s doubleheader this afternoon at Lock Haven has been postponed. The Mountaineers, now 9-1, return to action Friday in a twinbill at Millersville University.
