COLLEGE SOFTBALL: ATHENS GRAD BENNETT REGISTERS WINS IN FIVE STRAIGHT APPEARANCES AT ALFRED U. (2024-03-28)

Megan Bennett, a senior on the Alfred University softball team, pitched the Saxon to wins on consecutive days this week, and has earned wins in her last five appearances.
On Tuesday, in a 4-2 win at Lycoming College, Bennett allowed two runs — one earned — on five hits, while striking out six and walking none in a complete-game, seven-inning effort.
On Wednesday, in a 5-3 eight-inning win at SUNY Geneseo, Bennett allowed three runs — two earned — on 10 hits, while striking out three and walking one in eight innings in the circle.
On the season, Bennett is 6-2 with a 2.06 ERA. She has 45 strikeouts and just four walks in 47 2/3 innings, while allowing 41 hits.
Alfred, now 8-6, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Fredonia in a doubleheader.
