THE VALLEY - The first week of April features a limited amount of action as the spring season slowly comes to life, but Mother Nature is likely to wreak havoc for the majority of the week.

There are 21 games on the docket, including six each on Wednesday and Friday.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

• Tioga baseball opens the 2024 campaign at Southern Cayuga.

TUESDAY (5)
• Sayre baseball and softball hosts NTL Small School rival Northeast Bradford.

• Waverly softball hosts non-league foe Addison.

• Waverly tennis hosts Owego in its home match of the season.

WEDNESDAY (6)
• Athens hosts Wyalusing and Troy in NTL track & field action at Alumni Stadium.

• Athens baseball and softball hosts NTL Large School rival Wyalusing.

• Tioga baseball hosts Marathon in its first home game of the season.

• Waverly baseball hosts Seton Catholic in its first-ever STAC Central divisional game.

• The Tioga track teams open the season at O-M.

THURSDAY (0)
No Games Scheduled.

FRIDAY (6)
• Athens baseball and softball hosts divisional rival North Penn-Mansfield.

• Waverly softball hosts Oneonta.

SATURDAY (2)
• Waverly hosts Ithaca in flag football action at 11 a.m. at Memorial Stadium.
