WAVERLY’S PERRY NAMED BISHOP BROTHER’S CONSTRUCTION BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”Perry hit .527 (9 hits in 17 at-bats) in four games, with 11 runs scored, three doubles, five home runs, 13 RBI, and two stolen bases.
Perry started the week with a 4-for-4 effort on Monday, which including two home runs, a double,, four runs scored, and seven RBI in a 16-5 win over Chenango Valley.
On Wednesday, Perry homered, scored two runs and stole a base in an 11-4 win at CV, then followed it up Friday with two home runs, two runs scored, and three RBI in a 14-3 win over CV to complete the sweep. Perry also picked up a win on the mound Friday, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out six and walking one in six innings.
On Saturday, Perry rapped out two doubles, scored three runs, and had two RBI as the Wolverines completed a 4-0 week with a 20-9 win over previously-unbeaten South Williamsport.

SAYRE’S SHIKANGA NAMED BISHOP BROTHER’S CONSTRUCTION GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”Shikanga earned the only win of the day for a Valley girl at Molly Dry Track & Field Invite at Mansfield University Thursday, and was a four-time winner in a dual Saturday against Northeast Bradford.
Shikanga won the 100-meter hurdles at the Molly Dry in a time of 17.71 seconds. She also placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles.
On Saturday, Shikanga won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles events, the 200-meter dash, and the high jump against the Panthers.
