WAVERLY — Chenango Valley pulled out a win over Waverly in the first game of a three-game series, then rolled to a sweep with wins Wednesday and Friday in STAC Central Division junior varsity baseball action.

Chenango Valley 6, Waverly 5
Chenango Valley scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie, then held off a Waverly seventh-inning rally for a 6-5 win Monday afternoon.

Jerry Carnrike doubled and drove in three runs, while Bryce LaForest singled, and scored one run, and Aiden Doherty singled to account for Waverly’s three hits. Nate Kellogg scored a pair of runs for the Wolverines, while Sam Cheresnowsky and Daltton Davis each crossed the plate once.

Doherty started for Waverly, and allowed one unearned run on four hits, while striking out three and walking four in 3 2/3 innings.

Chenango Valley 14, Waverly 8
At Waverly, Chenango Valley led 7-0 after 1 1/2 innings, and Waverly never recovered in a 14-8 loss Wednesday afternoon.

Sam Cheresnowsky doubled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, while Daltton Davis singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Jerry Carnrike doubled and drove in one run to pace Waverly’s five-hit attack.

Chase Wheeler singled and scored two runs for the Wolverines, while Logan Roskow singled and scored one run, and Maison Apgar, Nate Kellogg, and Ahren McCarthy each scored one run.

The Wolverines committed nine errors in the loss.

Davis started for Waverly, allowing eight runs — only three earned — on seven hits, while striking out four and walking two in three innings.

McCarty relieved, and allowed six runs — one earned — on three hits, while striking out three and walking one in four innings.

Chenango Valley 11, Waverly 2
Chenango Valley completed a three-game sweep of the Wolverines will an 11-2 win Friday.

The Warriors took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning, and stretched its lead to 10-1 after five innings.

Maison Apgar and Chase Wheeler each had one hit and one RBI, while Bryce LaForest doubled and scored one run, and Peyton Robinson and Derek Johnson each added singles. Nate Kellogg also scored one run.

Waverly, now 1-3, returns to action Monday at Chenango Forks.
