GROTON — Sophomore RaeAnne Feeko tossed a no-hitter, and Tioga banged out 15 hits in a 16-2 five-inning win over Groton here Monday afternoon in IAC South Small School softball action.

Feeko fanned 10 and walked seven, while allowing two earned runs in five innings to earn the win.

Feeko led off the game with a double, and scored on a one-out RBI single by junior Erin Luther. With two outs, sophomore Emily Shiner stroked an RBI single to score Luther and give Tioga a 2-0 lead.

In the second inning, Tioga scored four runs — all with two outs — to take a 6-0 lead.

With runners on first and second and two outs, junior McKenzie Williams and Luther hit back-to-back RBI singles to make it 4-0. After a walk to sophomore Lily Mezzatesta loaded the bases, Shiner looped a two-run single to left field to cap the rally.

The Tigers put the game away with seven runs in the third inning in a rally that featured a two-RBI triple by Feeko, and RBI singles by Mezzatesta, and seniors Emily Bidwell and Megan Vance, and extended the lead to 13-0.

Shiner was 4-for-4 with a run scored, and three RBI, and Feeko had three hits, including a triple and a double, scored three runs, and drove in two runs to pace Tioga at the plate, while Mezzatesta doubled and singled, scored two runs, and had two RBI, and Luther singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs.

Vance singled twice, scored one run, and knocked in one run in the win, while Williams singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, Bidwell singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, sophomore Vanessa Tunicliff scored two runs, and junior Christina Earley, and Elizabeth Shaffer each crossed the plate once.

Tioga, now 2-0, hosts Groton Tuesday afternoon.
