SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: WAVERLY EARNS WINS OVER HORSEHEADS, ELMIRA, NOTRE DAME (5 PHOTOS) (2024-04-16)

BIG FLATS — Corning posted the low round of the day, but Waverly earned wins over Horseheads, Elmira, and Notre Dame here Tuesday afternoon in a five-team Section IV girls golf match here at Mark Twain Golf Course.

Corning’s Delaney Abel shot a 37 for low-medal honors, leading the Hawks to a four-player aggregate score of 211, while Waverly shot a 218, Horseheads, playing without ace Olivia Hatch, shot a 248, and Elmira carded a 290. Notre Dame was incomplete.

Junior Breanne Robinson paced Waverly a 46, while sophomore Addison Hunt shot a 52, seohomore Sophia Sileo had a 58, and senior Natalie Lauper carded a 62. Junior Lauryn DeLill tacked on a non-scoring round of 68.

Notre Dame’s Evelyn Wheeler had the second-best round of the day with a 44, while Ava Fairbrother led Horseheads with a 54, and Allie Howe and Molly Mahon each shot rounds of 69 to lead Elmira.

Waverly returns to action Thursday at Willowcreek Golf Course.
