STAC TRACK & FIELD: CHANDLER LEADS WAVERLY BOYS TO WIN OVER OWEGO; LADY WOLVERINES FALL, 60-59 (24 PHOTOS) (2024-04-16)

WAVERLY — Senior Micah Chandler was a triple-winner to lead Waverly to an 81-55 win over Owego, while the Lady Wolverines dropped a 60-59 decision to the River Hawks here Tuesday afternoon in STAC track & field action.

BOYS
Waverly 81, Owego 55

Five of Chandler’s teammates — seniors Ralph Johnson, Charlie Larrabee, and Liam Wright, juniors Kolsen Keathley, and Xavier Watson — were double-winners in the win over the River Hawks.

Chandler won the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.3 seconds, and Keathley was second in 24.43 seconds.

Chandler teamed with Johnson, Keathley, and Watson to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 43.56 seconds.

Chandler and Keathley teamed with Larrabee, and freshman Rylan Larson to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:47.54.

Johnson led a sweep int he 100-meter dash in a time of 11.04 seconds, while Chandler was second at 11.38 seconds, and Keathley was third at 11.8 seconds.

Larrabee won the 400-meter dash in a time of 56.13 seconds.

Watson won the high jump with a mark of 5-feet, 10-inches, and senior Thomas Morley was third at 5-feet, 2-inches.

Wright won the 3,200-meter run in a time of 11:16.08

Wright teamed with juniors Nic Mattison, and Riley Pipher, and senior Braylon DeKay to win the 3,200-meter relay in a time of 9:21.68.

Senior Anthony Nehemiah won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 19.81 seconds.

Junior Seth Noto won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 8-inches, and Morley was third at 16-feet, 3 1/2-inches. Noto also placed second in the triple jump at 35-feet, 3 1/2-inches, and Morley was third at 32-feet, 8 1/2-inches.

Senior Jake Benjamin won the shot put with a heave of 38-feet, 1-inch and sophomore Troy Beeman was third at 37-feet, 4 1/4-inches. Benjamin was second in the discus at 116-feet, and Beeman was third at 99-feet, 10-inches.

Junior Nic Mattison finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:21.02, and sophomore Hayden Howe was third in 2:26.2.

Freshman Rhylee Stotler was second in the pole vault at 9-feet.

Freshman Chase Hine finished third in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:27.04.

GIRLS
Owego 60, Waverly 59

The Wolverines had five double-winners in senior Mackenzie LaForest, and Haylie Davenport, sophomores Mira Kittle, and Haley Larrabee, and 9th-grader Kaylin Twedt.

LaForest won the shot put with a heave of 31-feet, 1 1/4-inches, and senior Lea VanAllen was second at 21-feet, 3 1/4-inches. LaForest also won the discus at 76-feet, 8-inches.

Kittle won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 18.83 seconds.

Kittle teamed with Twedt, Davenport, and Larrabee to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 53.75 seconds.

Larrabee, Davenport, and Twedt teamed with senior Caprice Haney to win the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 4:40.79.

Freshman Makenzie Olmsted, sophomore Mackenzie Chamberlain, junior Madelyn Olmsted, and senior Elizabeth Vaughn teamed to win the 3,200-meter relay in a mite of 11:08.81.

Senior Caprice Haney won the high jump at 4-feet, 8-inches, and junior Kiley Stillman was second at 4-feet, 2-inches.

Twedt was second in the 100-meter dash in 13.99 seconds. She also finished second in the 200-meter dash in 29.16 seconds.

Larrabee placed second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:07.91. She finished third in the long jump at 13-feet, 9 1/2-inches.

Mackenzie Olmsted finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:43.15, and Vaughn was third in 2:52.04. Mackenzie Olmsted was also second in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 5:22.17, and Vaughn was third in 5:37.79
