NTL TRACK & FIELD: QUIROS, SHIKANGA PACE SAYRE AT WILLIAMSON TRI-MEET (2024-04-23)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION, Pa. — Junior Marco Quiros logged the Sayre boys’ only two first-place finishes, and junior Rose Shikanga had the Lady Redskins’ only win here Tuesday in an NTL track & field tri-meet.
BOYS
Troy 98, Williamson 56, Sayre 28Quiros won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.74 seconds. He also won the 400-meter dash in a time of 55.74 seconds.
Freshman Glenn VanBenthuysen finished second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:15.4, and senior Hunter Kimball was third in 12:54.1. VanBenthuysen placed third in the 800-meter run in 2:29.0, and he was fourth in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 5:29.0.
Freshman Declan Barry finished second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 21.54 seconds. He was also second in the 300-meter hurdles in 50.74 seconds.
Junior Donte Rubeck finished third in the 200-meter dash in 27.34 seconds.
Sophomore Carter Bleiler finished fourth in the pole vault at 9-feet.
GIRLS
Williamson 102, Troy 78, Sayre 8Junior Rose Shikanga won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.74 seconds, and senior Liz Shaw registered a pair of fourth-place finishes.
Shaw finished fourth in the 200-meter dash in 35.24 seconds, and fourth in the triple jump at 27-feet, 10-inches.
