NTL BOYS TRACK & FIELD: TRIPLE-WINNER REID LEADS ATHENS TO WINS OVER NP-MANSFIELD, TOWANDA (15 PHOTOS) (2024-04-29)
Valley Sports ReportTOWANDA - Senior Kelley Reid won three events, while sophomore Chase Ingram, and junior Jase Babcock, who had four top-two-finishes, were double-winners as Athens posted wins over North Penn-Mansfield, and Towanda here Monday afternoon in NTL Large School Division boys track & field action.
The Wildcats recorded 76 points in the wins, while NP-Mansfield had 63, and Towanda tallied 50.
Reid won the 100-meter dash in 11.65 seconds.
Reid also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.32 seconds, and junior Peter Jones was third in 24.8 seconds.
Reid and Babcock, teamed with Jones, and junior Lucius Mickley to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 46.96 seconds.
Babcock won the high jump at 6-feet. Babcock was second in the long jump with a mark of 18-feet, 5-inches. He was also second in the triple jump at 37-feet, 1-inch, and sophomore James Friend was fourth at 35-feet, 4-inches.
Ingram won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 19.84 seconds. Ingram also won the pole vault at 9-feet, and senior Mitchell Hamilton was fourth at 7-feet, 6-inches.
Sophomore Brenden Comstock won the discus with a toss of 124-feet, and junior Caleb Nason was fourth at 103-feet, 4-inches. Comstock was second in the shot put at 39-feet, 4-inches, and senior Josh Nittinger was fourth at 37-feet, 3-inches.
Freshman Graham Wanck won the 3,200-meter run in a time of 10:56.0, while freshman Lucas Persun was second in 11:36.65, and freshman Alex Arcesi was fourth in 12:17.15. Wanck finished second in the 1,600-meter run in a time of 4:51.62, and Persun was third in 5:08.57.
Sophomore Brian Tang was second in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 47.06 seconds, and sophomore Alex Thompson was fourth in 50.76 seconds.
Athens returns to action Friday at the Blue Jay Invitational at Central Columbia High School.
