IAC SOFTBALL: FEEKO SPINS NO-HITTER; WILLIAMS, BIDWELL POWER TIOGA IN 16-0 WIN OVER NEWARK VALLEY (2024-05-07)

NEWARK VALLEY - Sophomore RaeAnne Feeko tossed a no-hitter, and the Tioga offense, led by junior McKenzie Williams, and senior Emily Bidwell, pounded out 13 hits in a five-inning, 16-0, win over Newark Valley here Tuesday afternoon in IAC softball action.

Feeko, who faced just one batter over the minimum, fanned seven and walked one in five innings to earn the win. She threw just 56 pitches.

The Tigers built a 7-0 lead through three innings, then blew the game open with six runs in the fourth inning, and added three more in the fifth.

Williams was 4-for-4 with two runs scored, and three RBI, and Bidwell had three hits, including a double and a triple, two runs scored, and four RBI, while Feeko homered, scored three runs, and drove in three runs.

Sophomore Lily Mezzatesta doubled, scored one run, and drove in two runs in the win, while junior Christina Earley singled, scored one run, and knocked in two runs, junior Erin Luther doubled, scored one run, and drove in one run, senior Elizabeth Shaffer singled, and scored three runs, and sophomore Emily Shiner singled, and scored one run. Freshman Vanessa Tunnicliff scored two runs for the Tigers.

Tioga, now 14-2, takes on Union Springs Thursday at 3 p..m. in the overall IAC Small School championship game at Wells College.
