ATHENS’ BURGESS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Burgess won the 100-meter dash in 12.34 seconds, and won the 200-meter dash in 26.07 seconds. She was third in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.88.
Burgess was also part of the Wildcats’ first-place 1,600-meter relay team.
Honorable Mention: Athens’ Sara Bronson (track & field), Athens’ Emma Pernaselli (track & field), Waverly’s Paige Robinson (flag football), Waverly’s Ally Barrett (flag football), Tioga’s RaeAnne Feeko (softball), Tioga Mckenzie Williams (softball), Waverly’s Brinn Cooney (softball), and Tioga’s Vida Rossi (track & field).
SAYRE’S QUIROS NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"Quiros swept the individual sprint events, adding two season-bests to his resume despite the less than ideal sprinting weather.
Quiros won the 100-meter dash in 11.23 seconds, and ran a season-best 22.76 to win the 200-meter dash.
He won the 400-meter dash in a season-best time of 50.38 seconds.
