Valley Sports ReportSAYRE - Troy opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the second inning, and cruised to an 11-2 win over Sayre here Monday afternoon in NTL baseball action.
"Tonight was not a bad game for us," said Sayre coach Todd Green. "Troy came to play, and we just didn't match up.
"Being our last home game of the season, I wish it went differently, but that is every coaches wishlist on a loss.
"Tonight, we hit the ball OK, but not at opportune moments like the Trojans did," noted Green.
"Regardless, I'm proud of this group of young men, most of whom haven't played since Little League," added Green. "But when things got tough this season, they never quit."
With the win, the Trojans clinch the Large School Division title.
