SECTION IV FLAG FOOTBALL: WAVERLY HOSTS MAINE-ENDWELL IN DIVISION 2 SEMI-FINALS WEDNESDAY NIGHT (2024-05-14)

Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY — Waverly is the second seed in the Section IV flag football playoffs, and will host third-seeded Maine-Endwell in the Division 2 semifinals Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

Waverly and M-E played to a 13-13 tie Saturday night. The Spartans finished the season at 10-1-2, while the Wolverines are 8-1-3, but Waverly got the higher seed thanks to more playoff points with regular-season wins over bigger schools like Johnson City, Ithaca, Union-Endicott, and Vestal.

Owego is the top seed, and will square off with Vestal Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Tioga’s Haggerty Field in the other semi-final game.
