Valley Sports Report
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Waverly grad Chloe Croft was a volleyball standout in high school, but chose a different athletic outlet in college, and it’s paid off with a trip to NCAA Division III Championship Regatta as part of the Ithaca College women’s rowing team.

Croft, a senior, rowed in the Bombers Second Varsity Eight line that won its race at the Liberty League Championships on May 3.

The Ithaca College team earned a trip to the National Invitational Rowing Championships on May 31 and June 1 at East Fork / Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio. The event is hosted by Marietta College and the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission.

Eight teams were selected for the 2024 DIII rowing championships, with each team consisting of two boats (a 1V Eight and a 2V Eight). NESCAC champion Tufts, Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference champion St. Mary's College (Md.), Liberty League winner Ithaca College and New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference champ Smith College earned automatic berths. Pool C (at-large) berths were earned by Puget Sound and NESCAC's Trinity College, Wesleyan University and Williams College.
