THE WEEK AHEAD: 2023-24 SPORTS YEAR COMES TO CLOSE WITH N.Y. STATE BOYS GOLF, AND TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-06-02)

THE VALLEY — The final week of the 2023-24 high school sports year is upon us, and there are a number of Valley athletes still competing at a pair of New York State championships.

SUNDAY-MONDAY (1)
• Tioga’s Evan Sickler will compete at the Mark Twain Golf Course in the two-day New York State Boys Golf Championships.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY (1)
• Waverly will be represented in three events, and Tioga one this weekend at the New York State Track & Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

Waverly seniors Ralph Johnson and Micah Chandler each qualified for the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and will also compete with juniors Kolsen Keathley and Xavier Watson in the 400-meter relay.

Tioga sophomore Gavin Albrecht will also be in action in the pole vault.
