THE VALLEY - The final high school event of the 2023-24 sports calendar is on the docket today with Day 2 of the New York State Track & Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.

Waverly senior Ralph Johnson will run in the finals of the 100- and 200-yard dashes. The 100 final is set for 10:50 a.m., while the 200 final is set for noon.

Tioga sophomore Gavin Albrecht will compete in the poe vault at 11 a.m. The event was originally scheduled for Friday, but was pushed back due to thunderstorms and rain resulted in lengthy delays.

Fresh off a Division 2 gold medal, Waverly’s 400-meter relay foursome of Johnson, senior Micah Chandler, and juniors Kolsen Keathley, and Xavier Watson will compete in the Federation Championships at 2:20 p.m.
