SAYRE - Four Athens wrestlers notched wins to help Team Pa. to a 60-43 win over Team New York here Saturday afternoon at the inaugural Duals on Desmond All-Star Wrestling Showcase.

Athens’ Liam Warner won a 4-0 decision over Owego’s Joseph Monell in match 3 of 23 to give Team Pa. a 9-0 lead.

Athens’ Jacob Cobb followed that with a 4-0 win over Elmira’s Blake Decker to make it 12-0.

Later in the match, Athens’ Charles Jennings blanked U-E’s Jonathan DeCurtis, 7-0, to give Pa. a 39-6 lead.

Waverly’s Lyam Coyle was the only Valley winner for Team N.Y. Saturday, pulling out a 4-2 overtime win over Athens’ Gunner Lake to close the gap to 42-15.

The final Valley winner of the Youth Dual was Athens’ Sophia Barrett, who forged an 8-3 win over Elmira’s Parker Watson to make it 54-24.

Team N.Y. won the final four bouts to provide the final margin.
