Mya McClure was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and three RBI to lead Troy a the plate.
Bryn Bishop struck out five in 3 1/3 innings in the circle for Athens.
Athens returns to action in the double-elimination Thursday at Southern Tioga.
