YOUTH SOFTBALL (12U): VALLEY ASA ROLLS TO 18-2 WIN OVER NEWARK VALLEY IN CONSOLATION BRACKET SEMIS OF TIOGA COUNTY 12U TOURNEY (24 PHOTOS) (2024-07-01)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER - Valley ASA scored early and often on its way to an 18-2 four-inning win over Newark Valley here Monday evening in the consolation bracket semifinals of the Tioga County 12U Softball Tournament.
Valley ASA scored five runs in the top of the first inning, and five more in the second to take a 10-0 lead.
Valley ASA scored four runs in the top of the third to extend the lead to 14-1, and tacked on four more runs in the fourth to make it 18-1.
Hailey Smith earned the win, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out eight and walking four in four innings.
Ivy Brown was 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and four RBI to pace Valley ASA’s 12-hit attack, while Evelyn Roy was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI, and Alayna Lackey singled twice and scored one run.
Hailey Smith singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs in the win, while Lexi Thompson singled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run, and Mylee Medina and Audrey Hall each singled, and scored two runs.
Juliet Roy scored two runs, and drove in two runs for Valley ASA, while Morgan Smith scored two runs, and Mariana Mantz drove in one run.
Valley ASA will now take on Waverly Tuesday in the consolation finals, with the winner playing Tioga Wednesday in the championship game.
