DISTRICT 6 LITTLE LEAGUE (MINORS): WAVERLY FALLS TO CORNING BLACK IN FINAL GAME OF POOL PLAY (2024-07-03)

WAVERLY -- Corning Black scored early and often on its way to a 21-2 three-inning win over Waverly here Wednesday evening in the final game of pool play action in the District 6 Little League Minors Division baseball playoffs.

Corning plated seven runs in the top of the first inning, then plated 10 more runs in the second to stretch its lead to 17-2.

Jonah Raney’s first-inning, two-run inside-the-park home run provided Waverly’s only runs of the game.

Jackson Moiser and Easton Beach each singled, and Beau Bowman scored a run to account for the rest of Waverly’s offense.

Waverly finishes pool play action at 3-3, and begins bracket play Saturday.
