OWEGO — Sayre Morningstar struggled at the plate in a 10-0 loss to Owego Robinson in a “C” division pool play opener in the Owego Little League 12U Tournament Monday.
Gavin Harrington hurled a no-hitter, striking out seven and walking three for Owego.
Owego scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning, then tacked on another in the second. They ended the game via the 10-run “mercy rule” with a four-run fourth.
Trenton Lynch reached base twice for Sayre via walks and Alex Rounsville drew one base on balls.
Sayre continues pool play Thursday against M-E Caldwell at 5:45 p.m. on Hyde Park Field 4.
