Athens scored a run in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead, then scored three more runs in the third to take a brief 4-3 lead.

Athens outhit Selinsgrove, 5-3. Both teams drew 13 base on balls, but Selinsgrove took better advantage of the free passes.

Molly McGrath laced an RBI single to put Athens up 1-0, and Terrianna Orshal scored on a passed ball to make it 2-0.

Clinton County closed the gap to 2-1 with a run in the home half of the first inning, took a 3-2 lead with two runs in the second inning, and put the game away with five runs in the fifth inning.

McGrath singled and drove in one run, while Lindsey Ahern, Nora Morales, and Milah Garrison each added a single to account for Athens’ four hits, and Orshal, and Amelia Archibald each scored one run.
