WAVERLY NOTCHES ONLY WIN FOR VALLEY TEAMS AT WAVERLY SUMMER HOOP LEAGUE (2024-07-16)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — It was a rough night for Valley teams at the Waverly Summer Basketball League here Monday night, with Waverly notching the only win.
Waverly dropped a 57-51 decision to Corning to start the night, but bounced back with a 50-37 win over Sayre.
Sayre also dropped a 32-25 decision to Notre Dame.
Athens lost 53-35 to Candor, and 56-29 to Elmira.
And, Tioga dropped a 34-32 decision to North Penn-Mansfield, and lost 59-23 to Corning.
Candor, Corning, Notre Dame, Elmira, and NP-M each recorded two wins on the night.
Monday’s games were a make-up for last Wednesday, which was postponed due to tornado warnings in our area. All teams will be in action Wednesday.
