BLOSSBURG — North Penn-Mansfield pounded out 301 rushing rushing yards, led by senior QB Cooper Shaw, on its way to a 35-0 win over Sayre here Friday night in NTL football action at Island Park.

“We didn’t play well,” said Sayre coach Ricky Lindblad. “We need to limit our penalties and do a better job tackling.

“(Cooper) Shaw had a good game rushing for NP-M,” he added “We didn’t tackle him well, and we beat ourselves.”

Shaw rushed for 184 yards, and two TDs on 29 carries in the win, and completed 6 of 11 passes for 75 yards, one TD, and one interception.

Shaw ran for scores of 23 with 1:54 remaining in the first quarter and 20 yards with 8:53 remaining in the half to help the Tigers to a 14-0 lead

Riley Oakes added a 12-yard TD run with 3:35 left in the second quarter to give NP-M a 21-0 lead at the half.

George Perry scored on an 8-yard run in the third quarter to make it 28-0, and Shaw capped the scoring with a 10-yard TD pass to Luke Kreger.

Kreger finished the game with seven carries for 36 yards, and also had two catches for 36 yards, and one TD. Perry had 29 yards on six carries, and Oakes added 28 yards and one TD on five carries.

Junior Karter Greene completed 3 of 15 passes for 36 yards, and was intercepted once for the Redskins, and added 20 rushing yards on four carries.

Senior Jamier Kole led Sayre with 27 yards on eight carries, while senior Nick Pellicano had 2 catches for 18 yards, and sophomore Hudson Malanoski had one grab for 18 yards.

Green and Malanoski led Sayre with 11 tackles apiece, while senior Mikey Griffin had eight tackles, senior Ryan Ressler had seven tackles, and junior Kiyshon Kole added four tackles and one interception.

Sayre, now 0-2, will open the home portion of its schedule Friday night at the Lockhart Street Bowl against Montgomery (0-2).
