STAC BOYS GOLF: MUCH-IMPROVED WAVERLY DROPS DECISION TO SETON CATHOLIC (2024-09-10)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Senior Carson McIsaac, freshman Griff Walter, and sophomore Daniel Fischer all broke 50, but Seton Catholic was just a little deeper in a 226-244 win in STAC boys golf action here Tuesday afternoon at Shepard Hills.
The Wolverines, now 0-2, were 19 strokes better Tuesday, than in their season-opening loss against Windsor on Thursday.
McIsaac led Waverly with a 45, including birdies on the par-4 first and sixth holes, on the par-37 front nine at Shepard Hills.
Walter fired a 46, while Fischer shot a 49, and senior Devyn Kinney carded a 51.
Mac Talada added a non-scoring round of 51, and freshman Daniel Brody tacked on a 60.
Seton’s Will Pipher earned low-medal honors with a 41, while John Redmore shot a 45, Drew Scoville had a 46, and Chad Baykal and Thomas D’Onofrio each carded 47s.
Waverly returns to action Thursday at Owego.
