Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — It’s another extremely busy week in the Valley, including football games on Friday and Saturday, and a number of big girls and boys soccer matches.

There are 37 events on this week’s docket, including nine on Saturday, and seven on Tuesday.

The following are all of the home varsity events this week, and a few of the notable road events:

MONDAY  (5)
•  The Athens and Sayre golfer swing into action in the penultimate league match of the season at Shepard Hills.

•  The unbeaten Athens girls travel to Wyalusing for a key NTL Large School match-up.

•  The Tioga boys look to get into the win column at home against Whitney Point.

TUESDAY (7)

•  The Waverly girls host divisional soccer rival Seton Catholic.

•  Waverly “hosts” Chenango Forks on the volleyball hardwood at Sayre.

•  The Waverly boys host Chenango Forks on the links at Shepard Hills.

WEDNESDAY (6)
•  The Athens boys host Towanda on the pitch at Alumni Stadium.

•  The Waverly boys host Tioga County soccer rival Owego.

•  Tioga volleyball hosts IAC North foe Dryden.

•  Tioga takes on IAC South Small girls soccer rival O-M under the lights at Haggery Field.

THURSDAY (6)
•  The Athens volleyball team hosts NTL Large School rival North Penn-Liberty.

•  The Athens girls host NEB on the pitch.

•  The Waverly girls are on the road against divisional soccer rival Owego.

•  Waverly volleyball hosts “Norwich” at Tioga Central High School.

•  Sayre volleyball hosts NTL Small School rival Cowanesque Valley.

FRIDAY (4)
•  Waverly hosts non-league foe Horseheads on the gridiron at Memorial Stadium

•  Tioga hits the road to take on Section IV, Class C football power Chenango Forks.

•  The Tioga girls host IAC North foe Groton.

SATURDAY (9)

•  Athens hosts NTL Large School rival North Penn-Mansfield on the gridiron at Alumni Stadium.

•  Sayre hosts NTL Small School rival Muncy on the gridiron at the Lockhart Street Bowl.

•  The Waverly girls host Chenango Forks in a matinee at Memorial Stadium.

•  The Athens boys host non-league soccer foe Greene.

•  The Tioga girls play their third game in four days, hosting Unadilla Valley.

•  The Tioga boys host IAC North soccer foe Moravia.
