IAC VOLLEYBALL: TIOGA FALLS IN SEMIFINALS AT ITS TOURNAMENT (24 PHOTOS) (2024-09-15)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER — Tioga reached the semifinals of its volleyball tournament Saturday before losing to eventual champion Corning.
Tioga finished second in Pool 1 with a 6-2 record.
The Tigers swept Horseheads by scores of 25-15 and 25-20, and Chenango Valley by scores of 25-19 and 25-16.
Tioga split with Lansing — winning the first set 25-19, but dropping the second set 25-22, and also split with Candor — winning the first set 25-14 and losing the second 25-16.
Tioga faced Pool 2 winner Corning, which went 8-0 in pool play, in the semifinals and dropped a 25-18.
Candor won Pool 1 with a 7-1 record, and beat Trumansburg, which finished second in the Pool 2, 25-23 in the semifinals.
Corning beat Candor, 25-14, in the finals.
Tioga returns to action Monday at Watkins Glen.
