NTL VOLLEYBALL: SAYRE SWEPT BY COWANESQUE VALLEY, AND WAVERLY (2024-09-17)

WESTFIELD, Pa. — Cowanesque Valley reeled off three convincing wins in a sweep of Sayre here Tuesday night in NTL Small School Division volleyball action.

The Indians won by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-18.

Freshman Reghan McGaughey led Sayre with four aces, seven digs, and eight serve-receives, while senior Abbie McGaughey had three books, five digs, and six receives, and sophomore Alex Schack had 11 digs, two setter assists, and 22 receives.

Senior Morgan Felt added two aces and two digs for the Redskins, while senior Raegan Parrish had two digs and nine receives, senior Mazlin VanDuzer recorded three digs, and senior Mercedez Haggerty chipped in with one block.

JV: CV won the junior varsity match by scores of 26-24, and 25-13.

Waverly 3, Sayre 0
Waverly started quick, but Sayre battled them for the last two sets in the Wolverines’ 3-0 win Monday night.

Sophomore Alex Schack led Sayre with 10 digs, nine serve-receives, three setter assists, and two service aces, while senior Morgan Felt had six digs, two assists, and six receives, and freshman Graziella Russo added seven digs, and 11 receives.

Senior Mazlin VanDuzer registered three kills, and six digs for the Redskins, while freshman Reghan McGaughey had two kills and three digs, senior Abbie McGaughey added two digs, and senior Mercedez Haggerty chipped in with one block.

JV:
Sayre won its first junior varsity match of the season, topping Waverly by scores of 25-17 and 25-17.

Sayre, now 0-7, returns to action Thursday when it hosts Canton.
