NTL JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL: ATHENS 8TH-GRADE 'A' TEAM TOPS WYALUSING; 7TH-GRADE 'B' FALLS (2024-09-18)

WYALUSING — The Athens 8th-grade “A” team swept Wyalusing to remain unbeaten on the season, while the 7th-grade “B” team was swept here Monday night in NTL junior high volleyball action.

Athens “A” 25-25, Wyalusing 20-15

Athens topped Wyalusing 25-20 and 25-15 to improve to 6-0 on the season.
 
Emilynn McQuay led Athens with 14 service points, including 10 service aces, and two kills, while Addison Moss had six points (two aces), and Kayla Forbes had a stellar 10-for-12 passing performance.

Lily Miller added four points (two aces), while Eden Fedorchak added three points (two aces), and Jonica Walters chipped in with one kill.

The Wildcats return to Thursday at Wellsboro.

Wyalusing “B” 25-25, Athens 13-19
Wyalusing topped Athens 25-13 and 25-19 in the 7th-grade “B” match.

Auriana Welch led Athens with four points and strong defensive passing, while Hannah Behm had three points, and Natalie Yale added two points.

Athens falls to 1-2 on the season.
