NTL VOLLEYBALL: CANTON FENDS OFF EARLY CHALLENGE, SWEEPS SAYRE (2024-09-19)

SAYRE — Canton fended off a pesky Sayre effort in the first set, then cruised to a sweep here Thursday night in NTL Small School Division volleyball action.

The Warriors won by scores of 25-20, 25-11, and 25-9.

Junior Rylee Lantz, who has been out with an injury since the Williamson Tournament, registered three kills, one block, nine setter assists, and four digs, while freshman Reghan McGaughey had six kills, seven digs, and five serve-receives, and senior Raegan Parrish recorded 12 digs and 12 serve-receives.

Senior Abbie McGaughey added three kills, one block, five digs, and seven serve-receives for the Redskins, while sophomore Alex Schack had 11 digs and 12 receives, and seniors Mercedez Haggerty and Morgan Felt chipped in with three digs apiece.

Sayre, now 0-8, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts unbeaten Northeast Bradford.
