STAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY SWEEPS NORWICH FOR THIRD WIN IN FOUR DAYS (24 PHOTOS) (2024-09-19)

Valley Sports Report
TIOGA CENTER — Waverly rolled to a sweep of Norwich here Thursday night in STAC volleyball, its third win in four nights.

The Wolverines won by scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-18.

“The girls have been putting a lot of effort in the areas of communication and teamwork,” said Waverly coach Hailee Rote. “We have the talent and have been working to find a way to work together, trust each other and to be one talented team rather than talented individuals.

“Everyone has been buying in to what we are trying too do and it has been great to see them gain some confidence this week,” she added.

Maddy Olmsted led Waverly with two service aces, 12 setter assists, and six digs, while Brilynn Belles had three aces, eight kills, and seven digs, Adriana Presher added four aces, and seven digs, and Ava Heath chipped in with four aces, two kills, and two digs.

Waverly returns to action Saturday at the Johnson City Tournament.

“We look forward to being challenged this weekend at the Johnson City Tournament and the next week in conference play,” said Rote.
