STAC BOYS GOLF: WAVERLY'S WALTER EARNS LOW-MEDAL HONORS; SETON'S DEPTH TOO MUCH FOR WOLVERINES (2024-09-26)
Valley Sports ReportBINGHAMTON — Waverly freshman Griff Walter earned lw-medal honors, but Seton Catholic had all five of its golfers shoot 43 or better in a 203-227 win here Thursday afternoon in STAC boys golf action at the Ely Park Golf Course.
Walter shot a 3-over par round of 37 on the 2,534-yard, par-34 front nine at Ely Park.
Junior Mac Talada shot a 45 for the Wolverines, while senior Carson McIsaac carded a 46, senior Devyn Kinner had a 49, and sophomore Daniel Fischer added a 50. Freshman Daniel Brady tacked on a non-scoring round of 54.
Brian Dempsey led the Saints with a 38, while Will Pipher shot a 39, and Christian Taber, Chad Hayka, and John Rednore carded rounds of 41, 42, and 43, respectively.
Waverly, now 0-8, returns to action Tuesday at Horseheads.
