STAC BOYS SOCCER (FRIDAY): SETON CATHOLIC ROLLS TO 9-2 WIN OVER WAVERLY (2024-09-29)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Seton Catholic led 4-0 at the half on its way to a 9-2 win over Waverly here Friday night in STAC Central Division boys soccer action at Memorial Stadium.
The Wolverines lost 10-0 at Seton on Sept. 16.
“There were lots of improvements this time around facing Seton,” said first-year coach Jon Rankin. “Having more flexibility with subs and players in different positions helped out a lot.
“The pieces are slowly falling into place that will allow us to be more successful moving forward,” he added.
Peyton Robinson and Jesse Lantz scored Waverly’s goals.
Aiden Doherty recorded six saves for the Wolverines.
Waverly, now 1-8, returns to action Wednesday at Owego.
