ATHENS’ WANCK NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”Wanck began the week Tuesday with a first-place finish in a tri-meet with Wyalusing and Wellsboro, winning the race by 53 seconds.
On Saturday, Wanck finished fifth in a field of 410 runners in the A-1 Small School varsity race. He was 26th in the merged results in a field of 2,491 runners.

TIOGA’S HANEY, HOWEY NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS “ATHLETES OF THE WEEK”Haney scored five goals and dished out seven assists, and Howey tallied seven goals, and doled out four assists in four games this week, in which Tioga was 3-0-1.
On Monday, Haney scored three goals and dished out three assists, and Howey had three goals and two assists in a 10-3 win over Moravia.
On Wednesday, Haney scored one goal and doled out three assists, and Howey scored four goals and had two assists in a wild 8-6 win over SVEC.
Haney scored one goal in Tioga’s 2-1 win over Newark Valley on Friday. The Tigers played to a 0-0 tie with Groton Saturday.
