NTL VOLLEYBALL: CANTON RALLIES FROM DOWN 2-0 TO TOP ATHENS IN FIVE SETS (22 PHOTOS) (2024-09-30)
Valley Sports ReportATHENS — Athens won the first two sets, but Canton staged a comeback for a five-set win here Monday night in NTL volleyball action.
The Wildcats won the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-16, but the Warriors rallied to win the next three by sores of 25-17, 25-16, and 15-10.
Senior Kassie Babcock led Athens with 25 digs, 11 kills, one block, and two aces, while senior Keaton Wiles registered 13 kills and three blocks, and senior Ella Coyle recorded a team-high 27 digs.
Senior Sydney Field had 22 setter assists, and two aces for the Wildcats, while senior Gretchen Schmieg had 24 digs, senior Emma Renninger had seven assists, junior Regan McDaniel added four kills and one block, and freshman Ellie Mosher chipped two aces and one block.
Athens, now 1-7, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Towanda.
