YOUTH SOCCER: VYSA HOSTING U12 TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND (3 PHOTOS) (2024-10-11)

SAYRE — The Valley Youth Soccer Association is hosting a U12 Tournament Saturday and Sunday on its field here on Wilawana Road.

Teams from the VSYA, Towanda, Wyalusing, Northeast Bradford and the Athens Soccer Academy will be competing.

VYSA  is a volunteer-run recreational soccer program for the youth of the Valley  Communities. VYSA is a member of District 5 of the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association (EPYSA), which is a member of the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA). Both are a fully-accredited organization that helps build soccer team and individual skills for children ages 3 to 14 years.

This fall, VYSA has approximately 460 children from the Valley and surrounding areas.

The young athletes train outside in a full range of weather in the spring, summer, and fall. Valley Youth Soccer is proud of the history of its organization, dating back to 1989, and with the facility that has been created over the years.

This weekend’s activities include a basket-raffle fundraiser. The concession stand will be open to serve up all your favorite snacks.

Fans are encouraged to come support these young athletes as they compete for that first-place trophy.
