SECTION IV GIRLS SOCCER: WAVERLY TOP SEED, OPENS CLASS B PLAYOFFS AT HOME; TIOGA WILL ALSO OPEN AT HOME IN CLASS C (2024-10-18)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — Waverly is the top seed in the Section IV, Class B playoffs and will open at home Tuesday night in the quarterfinals, while Tioga will also have a home game in the opening round of the Class C playoffs.

CLASS B
Waverly (10-4) will hosts eighth-seeded SVEC Tuesday at 6 p.m., with the winner playing the winner of the game between fourth-seeded Lansing (9-4-2) and fifth-seeded Sidney (11-4).

At the bottom of the bracket, second-seeded Watkins Glen (12-2) hosts seventh-seeded Union Springs / Port Byron (7-6-2), and third-seeded Chenango Forks (7-6-1) hosts sixth-seeded Susquehanna Valley (6-7-1).

The semifinals are slated for Friday at the home of the higher seeds, and the Class B title game is Nov. 2 at Oneonta.

CLASS C
Tioga (9-4-1) is the seventh seed in the Class C bracket, and will hosts 10th-seeded Unadilla Valley (7-6) Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., with the winner playing at second-seeded Trumansburg (9-2-1) Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Notre Dame (10-2) is the top seed in Class C, while Oxford (11-3) and Groton (10-3-1) are the third and fourth seeds, respectively.

The Class C quarterfinals are slated for Friday, and the semifinals are Tuesday at the home of the higher seeds. The Class C title game is in Oneonta on Nov. 2.
