THE VALLEY — Waverly senior Kolsen Keathley contributed in all three facets of the game in a big win over Tioga, while Athens senior Kassie Babcock had a big week on the hardwoods. They are the Valley Sports Report / Bishop Brothers Construction “Athletes of the Week,” for the week ending Oct. 19.

WAVERLY’S KEATHLEY NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION BOYS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Keathley scored a pair of touchdowns and had a key interception early in Waverly’s 50-6 win at Tioga Friday night.

Keathley had two receptions for 72 yards, including a 57-yard TD catch that put Waverly up 14-0.

His interception came in the first quarter at the Waverly 5-yard line. The Wolverines led 7-0 at the time.

Keathley capped the scoring with an 80-yard kick return for a score in the fourth quarter.

ATHENS' BABCOCK NAMED BISHOP BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION GIRLS “ATHLETE OF THE WEEK”
Babcock had a pair of double-doubles on the week, helping Athens to a 1-1 record.

On Tuesday, Babcock had 12 kills, one block, and 15 digs, and five service points (one ace) in a four-set loss to Canton.

On Thursday, Babcock registered 17 kills, 16 digs, and five points, to go along with 17 serve-receives, and junior one receiving error.
