IAC CROSS COUNTRY: WOOD, DELMAGE PACE TIOGA'S EFFORTS AT WHITNEY POINT INVITE; LYNCH PLACES FOURTH IN MODFIED GIRLS RACE (2024-10-22)
Valley Sports ReportWHITNEY POINT — Talon Wood and Brooke Delmage paced Tioga's efforts here Tuesday in the varsity races at the Whitney Point Cross-Country Invitational, while Irie Lynch placed fourth in the modified girls event.
BOYSWood finished 18th in a time of 20:22.4 to pace the Tigers, while Carter Allen was 72nd in 38:57.5.
Groton junior Ross Bush won the race in a time of 17:56.3.
Delhi cruised to the team title with 33 placement points, and U-E was runner-up with 80 points.
GIRLSDelmage paced the Tioga girls with a 35th-place finish in a time of 29:20.8, while Kendall Ward was 42nd in 30:11.8, Alicia Bennett finished 49th in 33:17.5, and Brooklin Lynch was 57th in 40:59.1.
Delhi's Aurelia Comer won the event in a time of 21:17.0, leading the Bulldogs to the team title with 23 placement points, with BGAH second with 52 points.
MODIFIED GIRLS, BOYSIrie Lynch led the Tioga girls' contingent in the girls race, placing fourth in a time of 11:22.9, while Reese Mills was 19th in 12:13.7, and Maren Seaver was 38th in 14:09.5.
Bailey Delmage finished 40th for the Tigers in a time of 14:17.6, while Evelynne Rathke was 43rd in 14:33.4, Ahliyah Coyle was 52nd in 16:04.8, Jaida Philhower was 56th in 16:28.8, Emma Swartz was 73rd in 20:29.9, and Noel Williams was 75th in 21:38.8.
Thomas A. Edison won the team title with 44 placement points, and Elmira was second with 66. Tioga placed sixth with 117 points.
Mason Rink was Tioga's lone entrant in the modified boys race, finishing 39th in a time of 12:32.7.
