NTL VOLLEYBALL: SAYRE SWEPT BY WYALUSING IN SEASON FINALE (2024-10-24)

SAYRE — Wyalusing spoiled Senior Night here Thursday with a sweep of Sayre in the season finale for the Redskins.

The Rams won by scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-20.

"I'm super-proud of our six seniors, some of whom we’ve known and coached for almost five years now," said Sayre coach Severin Barbagallo. "They are a memorable bunch, and will be missed."

The Redskin seniors are: Morgan Felt, Mazlin VanDuzer, Raegan Parrish, Abbie McGaughey, Emma Abadie, and Kendra Hyatt.

Junior Rylee Lantz led Sayre with 12 setter assists, two blocks, and four digs, while Parrish had two aces, three kills, five digs, and six serve-receivers, and Abbie McGaughey had five kills and seven digs.

VanDuzer had two kills, seven digs, and five serve-receives for the Redskins, while freshman Reghan McGaughey had two kills, one block, nine digs, and a team-high 15 serve-receives, and Felt added five digs and 11 serve-receives.

Sayre finishes the season at 0-16, and has lost 66 consecutive matches.

JV: Wyalusing rallied to win the junior varsity match in three sets. Sayre won the opening set, 25-20, but Wyalusing bounced back to win the next two, 25-13 and 16-14.
