WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: WAVERLY GRAD TOMASSO LEADS ST. JOHN FISHER TO SEASON-OPENING TOURNAMENT WIN (2024-11-11)

Sidney Tomasso, a senior on the St. John Fisher women's basketball team, averaged 25 points and nine rebounds in a pair of wins to lead the Cardinals to the championship at the season-opening Chatham Tournament over the weekend.
In the opener Friday, Tomasso pumped in 29 points, including a pair of 3-pointers and a 9-for-9 effort at the free-throw line, and grabbed 10 rebounds, to go along with two steals and one assist in a 77-64 win over Susquehanna.
In the championship game Saturday, Tomasso scored 21 points, including three 3-pointers, and pulled down eight rebounds, to go along with one assist and one steal in a 73-63 win over Chatham.
St. John Fisher returns to action Tuesday at Penn State Behrend in Erie.
