MEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: ATHENS GRAD BABACOCK REGISTERS DOUBLE-DOUBLE IN ELMIRA COLLEGE'S FIRST WIN OF SEASON (2024-11-14)

ELMIRA — Athens grad J.J. Babcock, a junior on the Elmira College men's basketball team, registered a double-double Wednesday to lead the Soaring Eagles to their first win of the season.

Babcock scored 17 points on 7 of 8 shooting from the field, and hauled down 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass in a 105-98 win over Bryant & Stratton College. He also had four assists, two blocks, one steal, and one 3-pointer.

In the season opener Friday, a 101-92 loss to Penn College, Babcock had seven point, 14 rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Elmira College, now 1-1, returns to action Saturday at Oneonta.
