DIMOCK, Pa. — School and pool records fell here Friday as Athens, led by senior Ethan Hicks and sophomore Brayden Pettitt, turned in record-breaking performances at the "Keep the Beat" Boys Swimming & Diving Invitational here at Elk Lake High School.

Ethan Hicks and Pettitt, who won the bonus 100-yard IM event, each won four events. Pettitt set a new school record, and Hicks was part of another new school record. Both of them were involved in multiple meet record.

Athens finished second in the six-team field.

(NOTE: Anyone swimming faster times than those noted as "district-qualifying" times had already qualified for districts prior to Friday, and thus were not noted."

Pettitt won the 200-yard IM in a school-record and meet-record time of 2:00.41, eclipsing the previous mark of 2:01.6 set by Jeff Gao in 2017. Dominic Musick was fifth in a district-qualifying time of 2:33.86.

Pettitt won the 100-yard breaststroke in a meet-record time of 1:01.03, while Lezak was fifth in 1:12.20, Leonard was sixth in 1:19.17, and Pierce Oldroyd was 10th in 1:29.88.

Pettitt also won the 100-yard IM in a time of 56.3 seconds

Ethan Hicks won the 50-yard freestyle in a meet-record time of 22.48 seconds, while Eli Hicks was third in 23.54 seconds, Gorman was fourth in 24.3 seconds, Ronel Ankam was fifth in 24.43 seconds, Ryan Shores was eighth in a district-qualifying 25.46 seconds, Josh Leonard was ninth in a district-qualifying 25.79 seconds, and Ty Lezak was 10th in a district-qualifying 25.88 seconds.

Ethan Hicks also won the 100-yard freestyle in a meet-record time of 49.21 seconds, while Shores was fifth in 56.22 seconds, Lezak was eighth in a district-qualifying 57.04 seconds, and Musick was ninth in a district-qualifying 59.36 seconds.

Pettitt, Ethan Hicks, Eli Hicks and Ryan Gorman teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in a meet-record time of 1:43.45.

Ethan Hicks teamed with Eli Hicks, Gorman, Ankam to win the 200-yard freestyle in a school-record and meet-record time of 1:31.89, eclipsing their own time of 1:32.06 set at the PIAA Championships last year.

Leonard finished second in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.47, and Musick was fourth in a district-qualifying time of 1:11.51.

The foursome of Shores, Musick, Eli Hicks and Pettitt finished second in the 400-yard relay in a time of 3:41.04.

Ankam finished fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a district-qualifying time of 1:14.2.

Ankam finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle in a district-qualifying time of 2:06.2, and Austin Quattrini was ninth in 2:23.11.
